At VP Debate, Kamala Harris Gave a Master Class in How to Handle Someone Who Won’t Stop Talking

“Mr. Vice President, I’m speaking,” is now available on t-shirts, hats, and mugs.

At Wednesday night’s vice presidential debate, senator Kamala Harris taught a master class in how to handle an opponent who won’t stop talking over others. Whether you agree with her politics or not, it’s an example everyone, especially every woman, can learn from.

Compared with the first presidential debate with its nonstop interruptions, the vice presidential debate was a model of civility, and of the expression of clear ideas. From Harris’s repeated insistence that the Trump White House should have alerted Americans to the dangers of Covid-19 earlier than it did to Pence’s repeated reminders that Harris had supported

Kamala Harris’ claim on COVID-19 business loans not whole truth

Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris has indicated while campaigning in Michigan that only one Black-owned restaurant in the state received support through a federal COVID-19 relief program, an assertion that’s not true.

The U.S. senator from California who’s former Vice President Joe Biden’s running mate renewed the claim about the Paycheck Protection Program on Tuesday while visiting Flint and Detroit. The program, which has been criticized for how it’s treated minority-owned businesses, provided nearly $16 billion in forgivable loans for more than 120,000 Michigan entities by the end of June.

Kamala Harris, the Democratic vice presidential candidate, is set to make a virtual Arizona appearance Saturday as presidential nominee Joe Biden’s campaign ramps up a presence in the battleground.

Harris is scheduled to make a virtual trip at 1:15 p.m. with a roundtable conversation with Latino small business owners, a key constituency that Democrats and Republicans are courting. The appearance will be open to the media, according to the Biden-Harris campaign.

The Harris appearance comes as the general election enters its final stretch with Arizona’s 11 electoral votes up for grabs.

Biden has not made an appearance in the state but said last month he was planning to visit Arizona, and other battleground states, after Labor Day. Details

Kamala Harris meets Blake family, stops by union training facility

Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris met Monday with the family of a Wisconsin man shot by police last month to kick off her visit to the critical swing state, where Vice President Mike Pence was also visiting as the presidential race enters its final phase.

Harris gathered with Jacob Blake’s father, two sisters, and members of his legal team at a private airport in Milwaukee while Blake’s mother and attorney Ben Crump joined by phone. Blake was not part of the conversation, according to a list of attendees released by the campaign. Joe Biden met with the family last week during a visit to Kenosha, the city where police shot Blake.

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump and co-counsels Patrick Salvi II and B’Ivory LaMarr released the following statement about Sen. Kamala Harris’ visit with the Blake family:

“Sen. Harris had an inspirational and uplifting one-hour visit with
