Feuding former couple end up with damaged vehicles

Criminal mischief: Police were called to a park in the 2400 block of North Flagler Drive, where a couple was feuding. The woman said she went to the park to meet her ex-boyfriend. She gave him some food she had bought, but he was angry about the new man in her life and dumped the food on the ground. He threw a bottle at the windshield of her vehicle, damaging it. The ex-boyfriend then punctured two tires on his own vehicle, the woman said, before calling police to the scene. The chain of events given by the ex-boyfriend differed. He said the woman came to the park to gloat about her new beau. Done with his attempt to fish and reluctant to get into a verbal battle, the ex-boyfriend went back to his vehicle. Business owners and community groups refine state aid requests for properties damaged in riots

After rioters burned down the former Odd Fellows Club office building on Minneapolis’ Lake Street in May, owner Ade Alabi paid $75,000 to demolish the remains of the structure. But now contractors are asking for $300,000 to $400,000 to remove debris from the site.

During a virtual “rebuilding roundtable” discussion with Minneapolis and St. Paul community group leaders and small business owners on Wednesday, Alabi said he has insurance, but it won’t cover the costs of building a new office building at the location.
