YouTube’s CEO won’t commit to banning QAnon content from platform

  • YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki isn’t committing to an outright ban of QAnon content on the platform. 
  • Wojcicki was asked about banning QAnon, a baseless far-right conspiracy theory, during an interview with CNN’s Poppy Harlow. She cited the movement’s grassroots nature as a complicating factor in banning it but added that YouTube’s policies are continuing to evolve.
  • Wojcicki said YouTube has already removed “hundreds of thousands” of QAnon videos and made changes to its recommendations tool, which she said have resulted in an 80% reduction in views on QAnon videos. 
  • Earlier this month, Facebook dealt a blow to the QAnon movement by announcing it would ban Pages and Groups, as well as Instagram accounts, that represented QAnon.

Three top Apple suppliers to commit $900 mln to India smartphone incentive plan – sources

NEW DELHI, Sept 28 (Reuters)Three of Apple Inc’s AAPL.O top contract manufacturers plan to invest a total of almost $900 million in India in the next five years to tap into a new production-linked incentive plan, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

Foxconn 2317.TW, Wistron 3231.TW and Pegatron 4938.TW all plan to make investments under the scheme, said the sources, who asked not to be named as the discussions are private.

India’s new $6.65 billion production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme offers companies cash incentives on any increase in sales of locally-made smartphones over the next five years, compared with 2019-20 levels. The scheme aims to help transform India into an export manufacturing hub.

Foxconn has applied to invest about 40 billion rupees ($542 million), while Wistron and Pegatron have committed to invest close to 13 billion rupees and 12 billion rupees, respectively,

Coaching staff, style of play attract Creighton’s first commit in 2022 class | Creighton

For Creighton commit Brittany Harshaw, last summer was a blast.

It was her first real introduction to the recruiting scene — she took the court with evaluators sitting along the sideline, she visited colleges, she met prospective teammates, she listened to recruiting pitches. Scholarship offers came. And Harshaw, going into her sophomore year at the time, did her best to just try to take it all in.

“It was fun last summer, just being younger and started to get to know coaches, and getting to go on campuses,” she said. “But I didn’t really think much about it.”
