It’s a relatively light week on the earnings calendar, before third-quarter earnings season picks up later this month.

Cisco

Systems and

Nvidia

report on Monday, followed by 

Levi Strauss

and

Paychex

on Tuesday. 

Lamb Weston Holdings

goes on Wednesday and Domino’s Pizza reports on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell will speak before the National Association for Business Economics’ annual meeting. Minutes from the Fed’s interest rate-setting committee’s latest meeting will be released on Wednesday.

Economic data out this week includes the Institute for Supply Management’s Services Purchasing Managers’ Index for September on Monday and the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey for August on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the Fed reports consumer credit data for August. And Thursday will bring weekly initial jobless claims from the Department of Labor.
