The Jack Daniel Distillery announced today that seasoned whiskey maker Chris Fletcher will take over the reins as Master Distiller of the iconic Tennessee Whiskey brand.

Fletcher, 39, had previously served for six years as Assistant Master Distiller and will be responsible for the overall quality of Jack Daniel’s from “grain to glass,” innovation and serve as a global ambassador. In addition, he will oversee the distillery’s new “Distillers in Training” program which aims to recruit, teach, and mentor the next generation of whiskey makers.

NBA Star Chris Paul Enrolls in Classes at This HBCU

Oklahoma Thunder point guard Chris Paul has enrolled in classes at Winston-Salem State University, according to NewsOne.

The State Farm spokesman played college basketball at Wake Forest University for two years before declaring himself for the NBA draft after his sophomore season. He has also started an initiative to encourage students to get to the polls and will also provide transportation to make sure it is not a hindrance to students who want to vote.

Both of Paul’s parents attended Winston-Salem State University, an HBCU located in North Carolina.

 

“We are providing transportation to HBCU students to get the polls so we are working on that now,” Paul said recently on ESPN’s First Take, according to NBA.com

Central Santa Rosa council race finds Chris Rogers fending off challenger

Santa Rosa Councilman Chris Rogers has a rival in his race for a second term, squaring off against political newcomer Azmina Hanna to represent a newly formed district that includes much of downtown and surrounding historic neighborhoods.

The nonpartisan match-up presents a clear contrast between Rogers, a politically connected former legislative aide with a broad range of establishment support, and Hanna, a self-employed creative director who is making her first bid for public office, trying to shake up the political establishment.
