Rotochopper, Inc. is the 2019 Central Minnesota Manufacturers Association Manufacturer of the Year.
The award was presented to the company in July and recognizes “member excellence and the extraordinary investments, services and contributions,” an Aug. 12 press release said.
“We are honored to be presented with this prestigious award,” Rotochopper CEO Tosh Brinkerhoff said. “
Rotochopper, Inc. is headquartered in St. Martin.
Gaslight Creative adds office in Montana
Gaslight Creative will soon have three offices as one of its team members makes Bozeman, Montana home.
Montana native Sidney Bofferding will manage the Bozeman office. She has worked as a marketing consultant for five years and is business development manager for Gaslight Creative.
“The addition of our Bozeman location will help Gaslight expand our services and better serve our clients in the Northwest,” Gaslight co-owner Jodie Pundsack said in an Aug. 18 press release.
Gaslight Creative is an advertising agency headquartered in St. Cloud and has an office in Minneapolis.
St. Cloud entrepreneur named to DEED board
A St. Cloud business owner and entrepreneur has been named to the Department of Employment and Economic Development’s Minnesota Emerging Entrepreneur Board.
Tohow Siyad joins seven new members to the board, which works to “reduce disparities and close gaps related to small business ownership by people who identify as Black, Indigenous, and people of color, and by women, veterans and people with disabilities,” an Aug. 14 press release from DEED said.
The board includes 12 members of the public appointed by Gov. Tim Walz as well as some government officials. New board members will serve two- or three-year terms, the release said.
Dubow welcomes six new members on leadership team
Dubow announced an expanded leadership team this month that includes six additions.
The team now includes chief financial officer Andrew Hawkins, customer service manager Emily Erickson, director of human resources Karen Schmidt, director of production Christopher Brown, inventory manager Gino Perrone and screen print manager Jonathan Rieth.
They joined an existing leadership team of eight people.
Schmidt, Brown and Rieth were hired this year and Erickson was promoted to her role this year. Hawkins was hired in 2018 and Perrone in 2019.
Quanex promotes St. Cloud leader
Quanex Building Products’ St. Cloud-based North American Cabinet Components Division has a new president.

John Sleva, who was recently vice president of sales as well as interim president, has filled the role, an Aug. 13 press release from Quanex said. Sleva has worked in hardwood sales, purchasing and management for almost 30 years. He was with Woodcraft Industries since 1996, which was acquired by Quanex in 2015.
Quanex Building Products, headquartered in Houston, Texas, manufactures components used in the building products industry.
Moore Engineering hires environmental scientist
Moore Engineering recently added an environmental scientist to its St. Cloud team.
Aaron Finke will do work with wetland permitting and delineations, according to an Aug. 24 press release from the company.
Gate City Bank helps distribute paycheck protection program funds
St. Cloud’s Gate City Bank helped distribute Small Business Administration loans established as part of the CARES Act to more than 1,200 businesses in the region.
According to an Aug. 26 press release from Gate City Bank, their PPP work affected 250 industries and had a $42 million impact.
