Visa Taps Greenberg Traurig Shareholder As CCO

Law360 (September 18, 2020, 10:25 PM EDT) — Visa Inc. has hired a Greenberg Traurig LLP shareholder as its new chief compliance officer, a role that is responsible for all compliance programs at the financial services and payments giant, a Visa spokesperson confirmed Friday.

Obiamaka Madubuko will oversee the company’s business conduct office, anti-money laundering and sanctions program, and an “ongoing training program that builds on Visa’s strong culture of ethics and integrity,” the spokesperson said. Madubuko started Sept. 8.

Square Mile taps Octopus Investments for business development hire

Square Mile has nabbed Sally Boyle from Octopus Investments abusiness development director. 

The research and consultancy group said Boyle (pictured) will provide senior-level support in developing and strengthening Square Mile’s relationships with IFAs and report to commercial director Steve Kenny. 

Boyle joins from Octopus Investments where she has spent the last decade in a variety of roles, including head of marketing and most recently a sales director for the north and southeast of England. 

Prior to that Boyle worked in publishing within the commercial operations of hedge fund magazine HFM Week.

ErosSTX Taps Veteran Media Analyst Drew Borst As EVP Of Investor Relations And Business Development

Drew Borst, a veteran media analyst most recently at Goldman Sachs, has joined the recently merged ErosSTX as EVP of investor relations and business development.

At Goldman, Borst spent a decade as VP and lead media and entertainment analyst, leading a team that covered Disney, ViacomCBS, Discovery, Cinemark, Liberty Formula One and other companies.

In his new role, Borst will report to CFO Andy Warren and continue to be based in New York.

Eros and STX closed their merger in July and the combined company plans a listing on the New York Stock Exchange later this month. The company will have headquarters in India and LA, reflecting the merged companies’ specialties heading into the deal, spanning film and TV production as well as streaming.
