SUNY Oswego senior to sing duet with Broadway star in digital performance

Oswego, N.Y. — Rachel Leotta, a SUNY Oswego theater major, will perform a pre-recorded vocal duet Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m. with musical theater star Mandy Gonzalez. The livestream show opens the college’s Artswego performing arts season and is available free to all at tickets.oswego.edu.

Gonzalez played Angelica Schuyler in “Hamilton” before Broadway went dark. She previously created the role of Nina Rosario in the Tony-Award winning “In the Heights” and played the starring role of Elphaba in “Wicked.” Television viewers will recognize her as Lucy Knox from the CBS hit TV series “Madam Secretary.”

Home and Away star Patrick O’Connor has revealed that it was his idea to give Dean Thompson a secret son storyline.

Next week’s episodes on UK screens see Dean’s life change forever, as his old flame Amber Simmons (Madeleine Jevic) tells him that she has a son and he’s the father.

Dean will later decide to meet his son Jai, realising that he wants to be part of his life.

Speaking to Digital Spy about how the storyline came about, Patrick explained: “Funnily enough, I suggested it to the writers. I had some acting lessons, as we have a coach on set that helps us, so if you have got any questions about acting or scripts or any of that, then they can help you out.

I have long thought that recessions are excellent times to start businesses. The smart and passionate Marcus Lemonis, star of the “The Profit” on CNBC, agrees.

Recessions could work well for startups for a few reasons:

•Startups require passion and commitment, and those facing financial uncertainty have those traits in spades.

•Essential startup costs are cheaper in recessions, i.e. rent, advertising, labor, etc.

Lemonis added another very important reason: There is a lot of money available for startups.
