A Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Monday will approve a Special Tourist Visa (STV) to draw foreign tourists, deputy government spokeswoman Traisuree Taisaranakul says.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Ministry of Public Health and various other units were fully prepared for the STV, Ms Traisuree said.

Prior to travelling to Thailand, foreign visitors are required to have a Covid-19 test taken 72 hours before departure, buy Covid-19 health insurance, and sign a letter of consent agreeing to comply with the government’s Covid-19 measures.

Foreign travellers with a STV must still be quarantined for 14 days, she said.

Asked about the tourism and sports minister’s idea to reduce the quarantine period for foreign tourists

Video above: Anti-domestic violence campaigner, Arman Abrahimzadeh, reveals the violence he experienced in his childhood. Full episode on SBS On Demand.

At the first sign of lockdown due to COVID-19 in Australia and across the globe, there were concerns domestic and family violence would increase in prevalence and intensity. It was also feared that, at the same time, conditions would prevent women from coming forward.

We have now gathered data showing these fears were well founded.

But what of the specific situation of temporary visa holders?

Our study of 100 cases during the first Victorian lockdown has illuminated the urgent need to remove barriers to support for temporary visa holders. It has also highlighted the need for changes to Commonwealth law and policy, so perpetrators are no longer able to use migration status as a means to control and abuse women.

This propensity is captured in the quote from one

JOHANNESBURG – Since the “new dawn” of presidency two-and-a-half years ago, many things were to be addressed with soaring levels of poverty, inequality and the huge unemployment crisis.

So far not much has been delivered, coupled with the Covid-19 pandemic exploiting all these fragilities even more.

To further strengthen economic dynamism in my view, a new master plan should be implemented by the government, business and labour which seeks to achieve a common policy objective to save the country and analyse, access, scrutinise and evaluate the “plan” that is not currently effective for our economy.

The new South African master plan should take consideration of:

  1. All structures of state-owned entities (SEOs) on the level of either sale of the entity, partnering or refunding of the structure with each having its five-10-year plan.
