Online scammers taking advantage of laptop shortage

A need for laptops brought on by more virtual learning is pushing parents to shop online, but there’s something you’ll want to know so you don’t waste your money.

Millions of American children need laptops for online learning this year, forcing many parents to turn to online retailers as store shelves are left thin, but buyers beware.

Jorge Rosado said ordering from a website left him just as empty handed.

“I sent them a couple of emails already, and nobody got back to me,” he said.

Rosado said he only had a few hundred dollars to spend, and with affordable laptops in short supply in major stores, his only real option was searching online.

He found a site called The Laptop Store supposedly out of San Francisco.
Rosado said the website took his credit car and gave him a tracking number, but nothing ever showed up.

“They signed my name,

Mastercard (MA) Takes Advantage of Digital Payment Acceleration

The evolution of currency has swiftly shifted over the years as more people move toward a cashless society with the convenience of online payment transitions. The digital payment platform Mastercard has grown so much from the change in consumer behavior to electronic payments. Even during the coronavirus pandemic, MA is benefiting from the accelerated trend towards digital payments as more people continue to make purchases from home.

Deutsche Bank reiterated their Buy rating on shares while raising their price target to $383 (from $320). The analysts expect volumes and transactions to continue to improve and the potential for accelerated adoption of digital to drive long-term growth rates.

During discussions with the anlaysts at a virtual tech conference, President and CEO-elect Michael Miebach highlighted increased demand from the government wanting to modernize the structure of electronic payments and allow businesses to optimize payments. Miebach also mentioned the potential for the accelerated

Golf surges, takes advantage of coronavirus-forced outdoor activity

Ken Willis
| The Daytona Beach News-Journal

Ryan Meyers isn’t comfortable expressing his family’s good summertime fortune, but the numbers don’t lie.

The bulk of summer (June through August) brought an 8% year-over-year increase in rounds played at the Meyers family’s Riviera Country Club in Ormond Beach. A 13.5% increase in cart use, 13% increase in non-member play, and a 10% jump in practice-range revenue.

“I hate to say it, but it really has been beneficial to us,” he says of the unusual circumstances that had golf perceived as one of the few safe recreational activities during the coronavirus pandemic.

Florida’s golf courses were never forced to shut down, though some did. Restrictions were put in place to lower the chances of viral spread — one person to a freshly sanitized cart, no on-course water coolers, no “19th hole” gatherings, etc.

“It sounds awful to say when other businesses have

Advantage Oil & Gas: The Canadian Midstream Strategy (OTCMKTS:AAVVF)

Advantage Oil & Gas (OTCPK:AAVVF) is a Canadian company (listed on the Toronto Exchange – Symbol AAV:TSX) that wholly owns the accompanying midstream system for the upstream business. There are so many companies in the United States that I follow that have a presence in their midstream operations with beneficial results to the parent company.

I previously noted that Epsilon Energy (EPSN) had that income from the midstream joint venture to help that debt free company have a minimal cash flow at a time of extremely low commodity pricing. Antero Resources (AR) had a history of periodically selling shares owned of Antero Midstream (AM) to raise some cash. These companies and more benefited in multiple ways from some exposure to midstream operations.

Typically midstream operations have long term contracts with minimum take or pay safety values that assure a reasonable cash flow during times of weak pricing or industry downturns.

Why I’d buy dirt-cheap stocks instead of taking advantage of the surging gold price

The idea of buying dirt-cheap stocks may not appeal to some investors at present. The prospects for many companies are currently challenging in an uncertain economic world, which could lead to disappointing share price performances in the near term.

However, over the long run, their low prices could mean they produce higher returns than more popular assets such as gold. As such, now could be the right time to purchase undervalued stocks, rather than seeking to profit from gold after its recent price rise.

Current price levels

Since nearly all investors would rather buy assets when they trade at low levels, buying dirt-cheap stocks could be a sound long-term strategy. It may enable investors to purchase high-quality businesses while they offer wide margins of safety.

This could lead to impressive returns as the world economy recovers in the coming years, and the stock market gradually returns to previous highs.
